Matt Easterday Accepted a new goal: Wrap up
2 years ago ·
Retro for Tuesday, Feb 21
What are we doing well?
Last deliverable went pretty well
We delivered valuable content
Breaking things down well-- hitting our stride!
Scoped the problem, and now we can work with that
Gotten on the same page as a team- have a unified vision
People are contributing and showing up
What are we doing less well?
Far from fleshed out implementation plan-- needs to have an impact
More efficient meetings
Better job distributing work
What measurable changes will we make to improve?
Make meetings more productive
Make a goal for the meeting- what we want to leave with
Laptops and phones away unless necessary
Discuss-decide-inform

What are we doing well?
Team communication is excellent
Problem is grounded in research
We are thinking big (not necessarily pretty)
What are we doing less well?
Be more concrete
Work on specific, lightweight deliverables instead of overwhelming Dan with big picture stuff
What measurable changes will we make to improve?
Start working with a real team
Create long-term strategy (road map to success)

What are we doing well?
We are all creative and motivated to deliver a good product. We also all have good experience and ideas to share! We are also able to have constructive conflict that makes our ideas stronger.
What are we doing less well?
We need to improve on the way we communicate with each other. There is some interrupting and talking over people in the group that makes group members feel unheard and irritated. We also would like to come up with a set meeting time every week instead of meeting at spur-of-the-moment times.
What measurable changes will we make to improve?
> Create an agenda/scope with how long each discussion will take — we need to make a decision at the end of that time.
> Set a default decision (this is something we all agree with) that will be used if a new decision is created.
> When you have an idea, write it on a sticky note. Everyone can vote with (number) dots
> Use “Yes, and…” to acknowledge and build upon good ideas.

What is our biggest confusion(s) or blocker(s)? Who or what might be able to help us?
We need to be on the same page as a team for what we're going to talk to Dan about.
