Because the TOSAs were tasked with bringing games from the new math adoption to the attention of teachers and students, the task was chosen earlier than usual in the lesson study process. The game Name that Number was chosen, because it practices multiple operations, using place value, and properties of operations that are useful practice throughout the year as well as part of the second through sixth grade textbook program.
