Uploaded a summary of our meeting yesterday! We were not allowed to directly talk to actual people in the library (only staff e.g. people at the desks) because the admin told us we were only able to take photos/videos as long as we didn't bother anyone.

Allison Chen - Thanks for the update!

- It's great that you were able to observe your users first-hand!
- It's also great that you saw there were many untapped resources at the library, as well as plenty of conference rooms and workshops - there is potential there for you to bring value!
- I suggest organizing your data about your different users in a similar way that you created personas - you already have high school/college students, parents with children, and now you can add older people and specifically immigrant families.
- I also suggest prioritizing which users you focus on so that your solution can work really well for them and also expand to work for others. Immigrant families might be an interesting focus because you can focus on crossing language and cultural barriers.
- Your next steps after further research should be defining your "how can we" statements and brainstorming potential solutions to implement. Make sure to move quickly! Your project video is due in about a week (March 14). I will follow up with an email about that.

Let me know if you have any questions/comments/concerns. Awesome job! :D

Updates: We are holding weekly two hour meetings on Fridays. Next week we will be visiting the Wellesley Free Library and then work with user data and ideate/iterate afterwards.

Teams will talk to the administration team in the library and ask:
Is there a tech help desk?
Ease of material request
Ease of material request
Any needs we can help with?
What programs are currently available? attendance?
What can BOW do as a community resource?

Teams will survey the general Wellesley population to gather concrete data using: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1gg-7gbiQX6t40kfHwaz1VkZuSZd67hSpYdGrrHzq6PQ/viewform?usp=send_form

Allison Chen - Thanks for posting this update! Here's my feedback:

- Your questions for the library are great - they will provide you with a good overview of the current situation there.
- In your conversations with the library remember that you aren't working for them but that you also have a vision for a makerspace that you're working toward together. By that I mean - this project should not turn into you making their tech help desk more efficient, there is a bigger picture than that. Does that make sense?
- Will the library help you survey the general Wellesley population? Surveys are tough to get people to do, so make sure you reach a wide pool. I imagine they have a database with everyone with library cards and access to other list-serv's.

I'm looking forward to next week's updates and hearing about your ideas!
